1. Who we are
Cellar is a venue stock management application built for Australian hospitality businesses. It helps venue managers track products, place orders, manage suppliers, and maintain brand relationships.
References to "we", "us" or "our" refer to the Cellar platform and its operators.
2. What data we collect
We collect and store the following information when you use Cellar:
- Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth)
- Venue and business information — venue names, group/company name
- Product data — products you add to your cellar, including names, prices, bottle sizes, and suppliers
- Order data — orders you create and save through the app
- Supplier information — supplier names, contact details, and ordering methods you enter
- Brand and rep information — brand relationships, contracts, and promo fund records you create
- Usage preferences — ordering unit preferences and PAR levels stored locally on your device
3. How we use your data
We use your data to provide and improve the Cellar service, including:
- To create and maintain your account
- To store and sync your venue, product, and order data across devices
- To power the AI-assisted product import feature (price list uploads are processed by Anthropic's Claude API)
- To match products against our product catalogue
- To improve our product catalogue, features, and AI suggestions using aggregated and anonymised usage data
- To analyse ordering trends and patterns across the platform to improve the service
- To generate aggregated, anonymised industry insights (no individual venue or user is identifiable in any insights we produce or share)
We do not sell your individually identifiable data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.
4. Third-party services
Cellar uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Supabase — database and authentication provider. Your data is stored on Supabase servers. Supabase's privacy policy is available at supabase.com/privacy.
- Anthropic — AI processing for the product list import feature. When you upload a price list, its contents are sent to Anthropic's API for product extraction. Anthropic's privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/privacy.
5. Data storage and security
Your data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Access to your data is restricted to your account credentials. We do not have access to your password.
6. Data retention
We retain your personal and identifiable data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personally identifiable information — including your name, email address, and venue details — is permanently deleted from our systems.
We may retain anonymised and aggregated data derived from your usage after account deletion. This data contains no personally identifiable information and cannot be used to identify you or your venue. It is used solely to improve the platform, maintain the product catalogue, and generate industry insights.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and all associated data at any time via My Account → Delete Account
- Export your data (contact us to request a copy)
8. Children's privacy
Cellar is intended for use by adults in a professional hospitality context. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify active users of material changes. Continued use of Cellar after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
